In 2007, JDI published Stories from Inside, an eye-opening report on the devastating link between the war on drugs and sexual abuse in detention. The report included first-hand accounts by 24 prisoner rape survivors, all of whom were sexually assaulted while serving time for a non-violent drug-related offense.
