Centers Against Abuse and Sexual Assault (CAASA)

CAASA is a non-profit, victim services agency that provides sexual assault services to the 19 counties of Region 1

 

Service area: Our service area consist of 19 counties in Region 1 of Iowa, Buena Vista, Calhoun, Carroll, Cherokee, Clay, Crawford, Dickinson, Emmet, Ida, Lyon, Monona, O’Brien, Osceola, Palo Alto, Plymouth, Pocahontas, Sac, Sioux, and Woodbury.
Work with: We provide services to all survivors of sexual abuse which includes secondary victims such as partners/spouse, Siblings, parents/guardian and any other support systems that are part of the victims’ life.
Services for survivors during incarceration include: We also work with our local PD/Sheriffs and the prison in Calhoun County to help them and comply with the PREA act and have worked with victims from those jails and prison. During incarceration, we provide the same services that we provide after release, these services include, crisis intervention via the 24-hour hotline, by mail or by email; hospital accompaniment during forensic exams; court accompaniment and legal accompaniment for sexual assault cases; in-person services such as counseling or support groups at local jails, youth detention centers, and/or prisons; and/or information and referrals.

Fees: All our services are free and confidential.
Additional Information: It is our goal to eliminate any boundaries that may hinder a victim/survivor to receive services, our advocates are mobile and come to them.  We do have three bilingual advocates that work with Spanish speaking persons and include services involving immigration concerns.
