Metropolitan Lawyer Referral Service, Inc.

The Metropolitan Lawyer Referral Service, Inc. (MLRS) is a non-profit public service sponsored by the bar associations of and serving the counties of Adams, Arapahoe, Boulder, Denver, Douglas, Jefferson, Larimer, and the city of Aurora, Colorado. MLRS is designed to assist persons who are able to pay normal and customary attorney fees. When you call the MLRS office, you will speak with a trained staff counselor who will help you determine the nature of your legal matter. The counselors are trained to help you decide if you require legal help, or if a community service or governmental agency better serves your needs. If your legal matter does require the services of an attorney, the counselor will arrange an appointment for you with an attorney member who has experience in handling your type of situation. You will have up to one-half hour to discuss your legal matter. The fee for the initial half-hour office conference is $35. You and the attorney are under no obligation to go beyond the initial conference. The fee for any additional service should be arranged between you and the attorney during your initial meeting.
