Sanctuary, Inc.

Sanctuary, Inc. is a non-profit agency committed to the provision of preventative and restorative services to survivors of sexual assault and domestic violence in the nine-county area of the Pennyrile Area Development District.

Service area: Christian, Caldwell, Crittenden, Hopkins, Livingston, Lyon, Muhlenburg, Todd, and Trigg Counties
Work with: Survivors of rape, sexual assault, and domestic violence and their loved ones
Services for survivors during incarceration include: Crisis intervention via the 24-hour hotline and by mail; hospital accompaniment and advocacy during forensic exams; legal advocacy and court accompaniment for sexual assault cases; information; and referrals.
Services for survivors after release include: All of the above, as well as individual and group counseling for adults and children and emergency and transitional housing for women and children. The women and children who live in the Sanctuary shelter or receive non-residential services participate in case management, support groups, individual counseling, and programming designed to build self-esteem and teach new coping, enrichment, and safety strategies.
Services for loved ones include: Crisis intervention; individual and group counseling; information; and referrals.

Additional Information: A range of services are also offered for any child whose parent is a resident of Sanctuary Inc. or receives non-residential services from Sanctuary, Inc. and any child who is a witness to or survivor of sexual assault or domestic violence. These services include individual, group, and family counseling; a children’s support group; parents’ support groups; recreation activities; advocacy and follow-up assistance; a summer camp program; and referrals to other service providers.
