Esther Lim
For over two decades, Esther has advocated for the reformation of the criminal justice system and to end mass incarceration.She has monitored the Los Angeles County jails, the largest jail system in the free world, and one of the oldest prison systems in the country in New York State, working with formerly incarcerated leaders to highlight horrific conditions of confinement, including excessive uses of force and abuses by custody staff. She has worked for elected officials in LA County, including progressive LA County District Attorney George Gascón, to create “care first” justice and public safety policies that are evidence-based, humane, and compassionate.Esther was also an adjunct professor at USC School of Social Work, teaching organizational development and financial management to master level social work students. She has her BS from CSU Long Beach in Criminal Justice and her MSW from USC.
