The Office of the Inspector General is charged with objectively examining department operations to ensure they are in compliance with established policy and procedure. This is accomplished through the MODOC’s Investigation Unit, which investigates violations of Missouri State Law and serious violations of Department procedure at all Department of Corrections facilities across the state. The unit, consisting of an Inspector General, three Regional Investigation Supervisors, and 31 Investigator II’s, works closely with federal, state, and local law enforcement to ensure criminal violators are prosecuted. Inmates who have been sexually assaulted in an MODOC facility can contact the Investigations Unit by calling or writing to the address above to report the assault and any concerns regarding the handling of investigations into such abuse.
