Michelle-Lael Norsworthy is an advocate for transgender rights and a member of JDI’s Survivor Council. She spent three decades behind bars, before being released in 2015.
In this short film, Michelle-Lael talks about serving time in men’s prisons as a transgender woman. She also shares how a groundbreaking JDI program helped her heal in the aftermath of a sexual assault.
