Heartland CARES, Inc.

Heartland CARES, Inc. is a non-profit organization that provides comprehensive, client-centered, quality health care, support services, prevention education, and HIV testing. Primary care is provided to persons living with HIV/AIDS, support services are provided to clients and their families, and prevention education and testing are provided to clients, their families, and the community at large. Heartland CARES provides services to residents throughout Southwest Kentucky, and in parts of Illinois, Tennessee, and Missouri.

Services for survivors during incarceration include: Support, information, and referrals via phone and by mail.
Services for survivors after release include: Confidential or anonymous HIV testing and counseling, as well as a range of services for people who are HIV positive including primary medical care and treatment; case management; individual counseling and group support; assistance with enrollment in public and private insurance programs and accessing a variety of benefit programs and emergency funds; housing assistance; substance use counseling services; substance use peer support groups; nutritional counseling and Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT); information; and referrals for legal assistance, oral and optical health care, and other services.
Services for loved ones include: Confidential or anonymous HIV testing and counseling; support; information; and referrals.
Fees: Services are provided on a sliding fee scale. No one is turned away based on their ability to pay.
