James House Intervention/Prevention Services, Inc.

Provide support, advocacy, and education for people in the Tri-Cities area of Virginia affected by sexual violence, domestic violence, and stalking to empower them to become healthy, safe, and self-sufficient.

Service area: Cities of Colonial Heights, Hopewell and Petersburg; Counties of Dinwiddie, Prince George, and Southern Chesterfield
Work with: All survivors of sexual assault, childhood sexual abuse, domestic violence and stalking; and their support persons
Services for survivors during incarceration include: Mail correspondence; accompaniment to courts and during law enforcement interviews; in-person counseling; crisis intervention and counseling via hotline; information, referrals, and references
Services for survivors after release include: Mail correspondence, accompaniment to courts and during law enforcement interviews; hospital accompaniment during forensic exams; legal and medical advocacy; in-person counseling; group counseling/support groups; crisis intervention and counseling via hotline; information, referrals, and references
Services for loved ones include: Mail correspondence; in-person counseling; crisis intervention and counseling via hotline; information, referrals, and references

Additional Information: English and Spanish services. We are unable to work with sex offenders or perpetrators of domestic violence/stalking.
