YWCA Center for Safety and Empowerment

A program of the YWCA, the Center for Safety and Empowerment provides comprehensive services for survivors of sexual assault.

Service area: Shawnee, Jackson, and Wabunsee Counties.
Work with: All survivors of sexual assault, their concerned friends, and family members.
Services for survivors during incarceration include: Crisis intervention via the 24-hour hotline or by mail; supportive counseling; hospital accompaniment during forensic exams; legal advocacy and court accompaniment for sexual assault cases; information; and referrals.
Services for survivors after release: Crisis intervention; counseling; case management; legal advocacy and court accompaniment for sexual assault cases; information; and referrals.
Services for loved ones: Crisis intervention; counseling; information; and referrals.
