Arkansas AIDS Foundation, Inc. (AAF) is a non-profit organization that provides a range of services for people living with HIV/AIDS in Central Arkansas. The AAF has been providing services since 1992 and is the lead agency of the Unity Consortium of Central Arkansas.
Service area: Pulaski, Lonoke, and Prairie Counties
Work with: Financially eligible HIV+ persons
Services for survivors during incarceration include:Case management; assistance with obtaining HIV medication; and information and referrals for HIV+ jail inmates. HIV+ prisoners and others in need of services can contact the AAF either by phone or mail for information and support and to arrange for services after their release.
Services for survivors after release include:Comprehensive case management; free HIV testing; assistance with obtaining HIV medication; assistance with HIV/AIDS medication copays and health insurance co-pays; mental health counseling; financial assistance with dental bills, transportation, and utilities; nutritional therapy; and referrals for other services.
Services for loved ones include: Free HIV testing and information.

The Arkansas Coalition Against Sexual Assault (ACASA) is a statewide coalition of individuals and organizations working together toward the elimination of sexual violence and advocating for sexual assault survivors’ rights and services. ACASA provides vision and resources to members, while working to change public attitudes and beliefs about sexual violence.

Jefferson Comprehensive Care System, Inc. (JCCSI) is a non-profit community health center with clinics located in rural sections of Arkansas. The mission of JCCSI is to provide primary health care and related health education and social services to improve the health of people living in medically underserved areas. In addition to primary health and prevention services, JCCSI provides specialized services to HIV infected and affected individuals.
Service area: Arkansas, Ashley, Chicot, Desha, Drew, Jefferson, Lincoln, Lonoke, Prairie, and Pulaski Counties
Work with: All HIV+ prisoners within the Arkansas Department of Corrections and others living with and affected by HIV/AIDS.
Services for survivors during incarceration include: Primary medical care and transitional case management for HIV+ prisoners. HIV+ prisoners and others in need of services can contact JCCSI either by phone or mail for information and to arrange for services after their release.
Services for survivors after release include: Primary medical and dental care; HIV testing and counseling; support groups; nutrition assistance; mental health and substance abuse assessments; assistance with medication adherence; transportation vouchers; immunizations; limited financial assistance with HIV-related medication; medical case management; and other related services.
Services for loved ones include: Primary healthcare, HIV counseling, and testing.
Fees: Free for prisoners during their incarceration. For uninsured individuals in the community, health care services are offered on a sliding fee scale based on income. Proof of income must be presented at the time of the visit to qualify. The minimal sliding scale fee is $15.00 per visit and is due at the time of service.

The Northwest Arkansas Center for Equality is a grassroots support and advocacy organization committed to achieving full equality for the LGBT community in Northwest Arkansas.

The Grievance Department of the Arkansas Department of Corrections (ADC) thoroughly investigates all allegations of rape or sexual assault in ADC facilities. Inmates who have been sexually assaulted or pressured into a sexual relationship in an ADC facility can contact the Grievances Department by writing to the address above or calling the confidential hotline to report the assault and any concerns regarding the handling of investigations into such abuse.

The ACLU of Arkansas provides legal assistance to inmates in Arkansas jails and prisons in limited circumstances. The ACLU handles cases regarding conditions of confinement and treatment in Arkansas facilities and may occasionally take on litigation in individual cases. Referrals are also provided when available. Inmates should briefly describe their complaint in a letter and send the complaint by mail to the ACLU office, where it will be reviewed and responded to by an ACLU staff member.
