Expert speakers will give advice on best practices to delivering vital services in isolated settings, covering hospital accompaniments, confidential reporting, and hotline calls. The webinar will also review the new opportunities to expand inmate services afforded by the Prison Rape Elimination Act (PREA) standards, which are binding on jails nationwide.
Featured in this webinar is a conversation between a community-based victim services advocate and the administrator of a small jail who together are developing a model program to address sexual abuse in the facility. They discuss the benefits of such partnerships, and how overcome hurdles that are specific to small, rural jails. The session concludes with a presentation on creating sexual assault response teams.
