Mapping it Out: Providing Victim Services for Incarcerated Survivors

In this webinar, we answer victim advocates’ most pressing questions about how to help prisoners who have experienced sexual abuse — either during their incarceration or at some other point in their lives. The webinar covers how to launch a program to serve incarcerated survivors, giving tips on how to negotiate agreements with corrections facilities, what types of services you might consider offering, and how to maintain client confidentiality in a detention setting. “Mapping It Out” introduces a written guide to help advocates who are new to working with survivors behind bars. The webinar features speakers from RSP and JDI, as well as an advocate from a rural rape crisis program that provides services to inmates in a local corrections facility.
