Clarence was the target of repeated sexual assaults by other inmates while serving time in a Texas prison. Staff intervened only when Clarence threatened to hurt himself, and on many occasions they have retaliated against him for reporting.

They were both narcotics detectives. They were both armed. It wasn’t clear if they were on duty or off. I had never met them before, but my boyfriend, a drug dealer, saw them all the time.

While in a Los Angeles jail, Frank suffered persistent harassment by corrections officers for being openly gay. After a particularly intense verbal attack, Frank was beaten and raped by an officer in the middle of the night. He was released a few days later, and filed formal complaints.

While working as a porter at a Texas state prison, Ivory was repeatedly sexually assaulted by a female corrections officer. He attempted to report the abuse, but was told that there was nothing that could be done since she was an officer and he was an inmate.

Richard is incarcerated in Texas, where he has been assaulted repeatedly after being denied the special housing he obviously needs.
